Designed to be sold to fellow Clans, this rebuild of the Timber Wolf carries thirteen tons of ferro-fibrous armor while being one of most nimble BattleMechs of its class, yet still packing serious weaponry.ĭespite this, Mk II's most notable potential buyers, Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon, did not purchase even a single unit, though they won some numbers in Trials. The sole rationale for the Mad Cat Mk II was to increase profits for Clan Diamond Shark after war with the Inner Sphere in the 3050s. With the civil war packages however, they (for whatever reason) decided to cut 30 days premium time and only give you 30 days with the collectors package, where you would get 60 days before. The Mad Cat Mk II was in development for fifteen months by the time production began in 3061. The Marauder gives you the standard 30 days premium time with the 20$ package.

If you wanna have some great fun with clan assault mechs and don't wanna wait, the marauder is a good choice.Īnother thing to consider is what you get in the package. Can't really go wrong with Clan Assault Battlemechs.īiggest problem will likely be, that the Mad Cat will not hit before mid July or even august. The Marauder is already really good, the Mad Cat will most likely be very good on launch. Other than that, it's a question of personal preference. Problem being that there's only one variant with even one ballistic hardpoint in the torsos, so the tactic above will likely only work for energy heavy loadouts. Put your main meat into the torsos with some light, expandable support weapons into the arms and you may be able to have them chew through both arms before touching your torsos. This will likely make for some really tanky builds. If you cut those Mickey-Mouse-Ears (aka missile racks) the arms will likely cover almost the entire torso area if you just twist enough.

Telling by the cover art for the Mad Cat, those arms will be great for shielding.
